Genre: Serious game - Card Game

Missions: Game Design - Balancing
This project was first developed during the Medical Game Jam 2019, in collaboration with medical experts and patient volunteers.
The goal was to create an educational game capable of motivating patients to take part in clinical studies.
After being awarded the first price by a jury made up of doctors and employees from Voodoo and Ubisoft, we decided to finish the game with the rest of the team and publish it on the Play Store.
We decided to take inspiration from the game Reigns, asking the player to take on the role of a doctor in charge of a clinical study.
Each round, the player is presented with a card with two possible choices. He must make the best possible decision for the study to go smoothly, keeping an eye on 5 different gauges:
- Time left
- Money
- Scientific rigor
- Number of patients
- Patients involvement
After each choice, the game offers a short paragraph explaining the realistic repercussions of the player's decision.
We decided to approach the rather heavy subject matter with a light art direction to make the game accessible to all audiences. For example, our patients are "Catipats", small blue animals with a cat-like appearance.
I took part in the writing of each card, in collaboration with the team's medical experts, who ensured the veracity of the game's content.
I then worked on the balancing of each of these cards and each level proposed by the game to ensure a fun and fast-paced experience, aimed at pedagogy rather than performance.
